Welcome/Croeso to The Gwaelod Inn
The Gwaelod-y-Garth Inn (or just the Gwaelod as the locals call us) is one of South Wales’ Premier Country Inns just a few miles
outside Cardiff, offering a relaxing mix of Real Ales, Home Cooked Food and convivial company. Since Richie and Barbara took
over the premises some five years ago, it has re-established its rightful place in the heart of the community.
Whether you are looking for somewhere for a quick pint after work, a quiet meal or a family celebration, we’re sure you that you will
find it here. Both the pub and restaurant have recently been refurbished to a high specification.

Meaning 'foot of the mountain' (Gwaelod-y-Garth), the Gwaelod Inn was originally part of the Marquess of Bute's estate. Every
window of this welcoming pub offers exceptional views - the pub was recently nominated as having the second best pub views in
the country by the Guardian Magazine and has recently been awarded a Highly Commended Award from CAMRA. It is a much
favoured watering hole for ramblers, cyclists and hang-gliders as well as some colourful locals. The Gwaelod-y-Garth Inn is situated
on the Taff-Ely Ridgeway Path
